Birka Bread

The type of bread you get the recipe for here is probably a finer kind of bread
or closer to a kind of biscuit or cookie, as there is wheat flour, butter and honey in it.
You can easily make the biscuits yourself.
They can be made on a pan in the kitchen,
but it's more fun to bake them over a campfire if you have the opportunity.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Mix wheat flour, oats and salt in a mixing bowl.
  2. Distribute the butter with your fingers to mix well into the dough.
  3. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl and
    whisk to combine, set aside.
  4. Set aside for 30 mins (while waiting, your child and you can use
    the time to read the history about vikings)
  5. Take a portion of the dough the size of a walnut and roll it out flat approx. 5mm thick.
  6. Fry on a dry pan (no. 5 or 6 on thestove) until the biscuit is done.
